MASP’s Free Span
As tradition demands, beyond the exhibition halls that make up the circuit this year, the São Paulo International Film Festival’s audience has once again the opportunity to watch a select programming at the Museum of Art of São Paulo’s span. The free span is a large area of 74 meters in length, one of the world’s largest of its architectural kind, and home to a large part of public demonstrations in the city of São Paulo. It also held the open public exhibition of world famous movies that were part of the Mostra’s selection through its 35 years.
The partnership between Mostra and MASP has granted the exhibition of previous screened films as Anthony Minghella’s The English Patient (29th Mostra), Julie Taymour’s Across the Universe (32nd Mostra), the classic 2001 – A Space Odyssey, by Stanley Kubrick (29th Mostra), Macunaíma, by Joaquim Pedro de Andrade (33rd Mostra) and also a special retrospective of John Fords’ westerns (34th Mostra), among other great films.
